Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Mombie

Getting Started

What is Mombie?

Mombie is a baby care coordination app built for couples and caregiving teams. It lets you log feedings, diaper changes, sleep sessions, and more β€” and keeps everyone in your family group in sync in real time across Android, iPhone, Apple Watch, Wear OS, and a web browser.

Is Mombie free?

Mombie has a free tier that covers everyday tracking for the whole family. An optional $5/year premium subscription unlocks additional features like multiple baby profiles and larger family groups.

Is there an iOS app?

Yes β€” Mombie is available on both Android and iPhone. Download it from the App Store or Google Play.

What devices does Mombie support?

Mombie runs on Android phones, iPhones, any modern web browser (at mombie.app), Wear OS smartwatches, and Apple Watch. All devices stay in sync automatically.

How does Mombie compare to other baby trackers?

We put together a full side-by-side breakdown. See our Best Baby Tracker Apps of 2026 comparison β€” it covers Mombie, Huckleberry, Nara, Sprout, Cubtale, and Baby Tracker – Newborn Log across pricing, smartwatch support, partner sync, and more.

How do I sign in?

You can sign in with your Google account or with an email address and password. Google Sign-In is the fastest way to get started.

Family & Sharing

How do I add my partner or another caretaker?

Open the app, go to the Family section, and share your invite code with your partner. Once they enter the code in their app, they'll be linked to your family group and can see all activity logs in real time.

How many people can be in a family group?

Up to 9 people can share a family group β€” partners, grandparents, nannies, or any other caretaker.

Can I remove someone from my family group?

Yes. You can manage family members from the Family section in the app's Settings.

Logging & Alerts

What activities can I log?

You can log feedings (nursing, breast milk bottle, or formula), diaper changes (wet and/or dirty), sleep sessions, tummy time, baths, and medications. Multiple baby profiles are supported β€” switch between them any time. Each log entry is timestamped and synced to your family group instantly.

How do smart alerts work?

Each activity type has three alert modes β€” Off (no alerts), Monitor (visual indicators only, no buzz), and Alarm (haptic buzz to on-call caregivers). For Alarm mode you set a threshold (e.g. "after 3 hours") and a repeat interval. This lets you stay aware without waking everyone up for every alert.

What is the Buzz feature?

The Buzz button lets you silently vibrate your partner's phone or watch β€” useful for handing off a night shift without calling out across the room. Just tap the bell icon next to your partner's name in the app or on the web dashboard.

Wear OS Watch

What does the Wear OS app look like?

The watch shows a wheel face divided into six pie-slice segments β€” one per activity type (feeding, diaper, sleep, meds, tummy time, bath). Each segment shows the activity's icon and how long ago it was last logged, color-coded green (within threshold) or red (overdue). Tap any segment to log that activity instantly. A microphone button in the center lets you log hands-free by voice.

How does voice logging work on the watch?

Tap the 🎀 button at the center of the watch face and speak naturally. Mombie listens for activity keywords β€” things like "feeding", "diaper", "nap", "tummy time", "bath", or "medicine" β€” and logs the right activity automatically. You can also include details in the same phrase: say "4 oz formula" to record the amount, "30 minutes" or "2 hours" for sleep or tummy time duration, or words like "small", "medium", or "large" as size qualifiers. After a successful log the button briefly shows a confirmation icon. If Mombie doesn't recognize the phrase it shows a "?" and does nothing.

What is Night Owl Mode?

Night Owl Mode is a wrist-based countdown timer designed for late-night feeding and soothing sessions. Activate it by saying "night owl", "mombie mode", or "stay awake" into the watch microphone, or by tapping a button on the Mombie web dashboard. Once active, the watch shows a fullscreen dark interface with four quadrant buttons β€” 1 min, 2 min, 5 min, and 10 min. Tap one to start a countdown. A depleting arc ring around the watch edge tracks the time remaining, shifting from green to gold to red as the timer winds down. When it hits zero the watch vibrates to alert you. Tap the center button to restart the countdown; long-press the center to exit Night Owl Mode.

Does Night Owl Mode work if the watch screen turns off?

Yes. Night Owl Mode keeps the screen on and holds a wake lock in the background so the countdown and end-of-timer vibration fire reliably even if the display dims. The wake lock is released automatically when you exit the mode.

Does Night Owl Mode reset if the baby moves?

Yes. The watch accelerometer watches for deliberate arm movement while a countdown is running. If it detects significant motion (such as lifting or repositioning the baby) it automatically resets the timer back to your chosen interval, so you don't have to tap the watch with your hands full.

Data & Privacy

Where is my data stored?

All data is stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. Only you and your linked family members can access your activity logs.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export your full activity history as a CSV file from the Settings page. You can also import CSV data to restore or migrate records.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings β†’ Delete Account in the app, or visit mombie.app/delete-account/. Deletion is immediate and permanent β€” all your data is removed.

Does Mombie sell my data?

No. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
